Reset form variables action

Use the Reset form variables action to reset the data of one or more form variables.

For example, if a form variable is used in a calculation rule to store the rule output, and subsequently the variable gets updated with the output value, you can reset the form variable back to its default value using the Reset form variable action.

  1. On the form modeling bar, click Actions and click New.

The New action dialog box is displayed.

  2. On the Type list, select Reset form variables.
  3. Change the default Name (ResetFormvariables1) to something meaningful.
  4. Optional. Enter a Description for the action.
  5. Optional. Select Multilingual to configure a unique action for each language separately. See Configure multilingual actions.
  6. To specify the form variables whose data must be reset, click Add for Form variables, select the required form variables, and click Done.

The selected items appear in the Form variables box.

  7. Click Add.

The newly created action is added to the table.

  8. Associate the action with the control to trigger this action. See Configure actions for form control events. Alternatively to call this action for a form event, associate the action with the form. See Associate an action with a form.

When this action is triggered, the data on the selected form variables is reset.
