Magnification

Use these options to select preferences for how zones display in the image viewer when Magnify Zone is enabled on the View menu. You can also take advantage of the Retain Zoom feature to ensure consistent magnification levels when switching pages or documents.

Zoom scale

This value represents the percentage of the image viewer width that zones fill when they appear. For example, if you select 10% as the Zoom scale setting, the zones use 10% of the image viewer width when they appear. If you select 100%, the zones use the entire width of the image viewer.

With Magnify Zone in effect, zones are magnified by a factor called the zoom value, which is the magnification required to meet the Zoom scale setting. For example, if the Zoom scale setting is 100%, Kofax Capture assigns a zoom value that represents the magnification required for the zone to take up the entire width of the viewer. The zoom value displays as a percentage on the Image Tools toolbar.

Maximum zoom value

The Maximum zoom value represents the maximum magnification allowed for zones that display in the image viewer. By default, the setting is none, which allows Kofax Capture to assign the zoom value without any restrictions.

To limit the zoom magnification, select a value from the Maximum zoom value drop-down list or assign another value. For example, if you select 600 as the Maximum zoom value, the zone magnification never exceeds 600% (even if the magnification would exceed 600% if the maximum zoom value was not enabled). If you select a Maximum zoom value setting, it must fall between 600% and 2500%.

If the Kofax Capture zoom value exceeds the Maximum zoom value setting, the Maximum zoom value goes into effect.
