Registration Zone Properties Window
Use this window to update the properties for a registration zone.
Recognition profiles
Select a recognition profile from the drop-down list. Depending on the recognition profile you select, you need to specify either the search text or the search shape.
Edit button
Displays the Recognition Profiles window. From this window, you can define a custom recognition profile.
Test button
Test your zone settings with the QuickZones feature. Your recognition and cleanup settings are applied to the zone and the results displayed in the Zone Test window. The contents of the test results match the search text or search shape that you specify in this window.
The Test button is unavailable if the sample page is displayed from the Document class tree view. The sample must be displayed from the batch class tree view tab if you want to use QuickZones to verify your recognition and cleanup settings.
Search text or Search shape
This area on the window may vary, depending on the recognition profile you select.
- Search text
-
Lists the search text to be used for the registration. If Kofax Capture locates valid search text within the zone region, it displays here. If the search text exceeds four characters, Kofax Capture
trims
it.Kofax Capture proposes the search text based on the location of the zone. You can type in your own text if the proposed text does not meet your needs. (If you change the search text, keep it as short as possible to achieve best results.)
If you change the search text, you probably need to reset the registration point for the zone.
The search text must match within an internal threshold. If no search text is specified, the results of processing the zone must be non-null.
- Search shape
-
Lists the search shape to be used for the registration zone.
If you are using the Kofax Shape Zonal recognition profile, you need to select the type of shape to be used for the registration. The shape list defaults to the Kofax Capture best guess for the selected shape. You have the following options:
Line intersection
Top intersection
Bottom intersection
Left intersection
Right intersection
Lower-left corner
Lower-right corner
Upper-left corner
Upper-right corner
Lower-left edge
Lower-right edge
Upper-left edge
Upper-right edge
General
- Treat search text as regular expression
-
When selected, the arrow button is enabled, and you can select regular expression characters from a menu. Selecting a character inserts it in the Search Text box. When selected, confidence from the recognition engine is ignored. If the regular expression matches, the confidence is 100. If not, the confidence is 0.
