Color Image Cleanup Profiles Window
Use this window to edit the properties of color image cleanup profiles. The window is accessed from the Edit button in the Batch Class Properties window - Advanced tab.
The first profile displayed in the drop-down list is
none.
This does not reflect the current
setting, nor is it the default setting for a new batch class. The
Kofax
Color Photo profile is the default for a new batch class.
Kofax Capture ships with three standard color profiles:
-
none: Turns off all color processing except thresholding.
-
Kofax Color Photo: This is the default profile, which is optimized for image files with color photographs. Deskewing is turned off.
-
Kofax Color Image: Optimized for color forms. Deskewing is enabled.
These three profiles are always available. While you cannot change or delete them, you can use them as starting points to create new profiles. Profiles that you have created yourself can be edited, copied, and deleted.
Name
Displays the name of the currently selected color image cleanup profile or allows you to select a different profile. The other options on the window change to indicate the settings defined for that profile.
If you select
none,
color image cleanup does not occur.
Color documents can still be scanned and exported with the batch, but automatic
recognition features are unavailable.
Threshold
Use these to settings allow you to control how the image is converted from color to bitonal.
- Brightness
-
Controls the conversion for regions where the brightness of the image is relatively constant. Values above this threshold are converted to white. Values below the threshold become black.
- Contrast
-
Controls the conversion for regions where the brightness is not constant, such as regions with text.
Deskew
Selects color deskewing. When checked, deskewing is enabled. Documents are deskewed for angles between 0.1 and 12 degrees. There is no provision for adjusting this range. Turning off this feature may speed up processing but diminish accuracy.
