Zone Test Window

The Zone Test window displays the results when you test your zone level recognition profile and image cleanup settings with the QuickZones feature. From this window, you also can check your settings with image files other than the sample page.

Original

Shows the contents of the zone as saved after scanning in the sample page. This may not exactly match the form, since some permanent cleanup may have been performed by the scanner or by Kofax Capture at the time of scanning.

Processed

This area shows the results after the SmartGroup's or zone's profile settings have been applied. Compare this with the Original to see if you are satisfied with the outcome. Keep in mind that any cleanup processing done at the zone level is temporary.

Note The size and shape of the Original and Processed areas may vary, depending on the size and shape of the zone or SmartGroup you are testing.

Images

Contains a list of image files available for testing. At a minimum, your sample page is listed here, but you can add or remove other files. In general, you should run your test on more than one example of your form. This ensures that your settings are not dependent on a single case.

When you add an image file to this list, the Administration Module retains it for the current session only (unless you remove it). If you exit the Administration module, open it again, and then return to this window, the Images list contains only your sample page.

This window remembers the image file that was selected when you exited the window. The next time you enter this window (in the current session), the same image is still selected, even if you are testing a different zone or group.

Note After adding a file to the Images list, do not rename or delete the file during the current Kofax Capture session unless you first remove it from the list. Otherwise, a warning appears when the file cannot be found.

Add button

Adds a file to your list of image files available for testing and opens the Import File window. You cannot add duplicate file names.

Remove button

Deletes the currently highlighted file from the list of available images. This action removes the file from the Images list only; it does not delete it from your hard drive. You can remove only one file at a time. If you remove the currently selected file, the image file above it is automatically selected. You cannot remove the sample page.

Results

This area contains messages relating to the test. Informational, warning, or error messages may be displayed here.

The following table lists common informational messages you might see. The message displayed depends on the type of zone, the recognition profile, and the cleanup profile. Check marks indicate the types of messages used for each zone type. The example messages are representative of what you might see in the Results area.

Test button

Performs the test. Each time you enter this window, the test is performed on the currently selected image file (the last one you used in the current session). Unless you want to try a different image file, there is no reason to click Test again.

To see the test results for a different image file, select it and then click Test.
