Use this window to specify which patch code type is reserved for batch separator sheets. Once you reserve a patch code for batch separation and publish batch classes, the reserved patch code is printed on all batch separator sheets produced with the Separator Sheet Utility.

When the patch code reserved for batch separation is detected during scanning, the current batch is closed and a new batch is created. The bar code on the batch separator sheet is used to determine the batch class name of the new batch.

Before choosing a patch code to reserve, familiarize yourself with the following guidelines:

• The reserved patch code is applied to each batch class that you publish.

• If you change the reserved patch code selection, Kofax Capture automatically unpublishes the current set of published batch classes.

• You cannot change the reserved patch code while batches exist in the system. If batches do exist, the patch code list on this window is grayed.

• A patch code reserved for batch separation cannot be used for document separation.
