Editing the Properties for a Single Batch

A user cannot edit the properties of a batch unless the batch was assigned access restrictions through a custom workflow agent. The user must meet the following conditions in order to edit the access-restricted batch:

  • The user was granted access to the batch from a custom workflow agent.

  • The Allow Batch Manager to edit batches that were granted access rights by a Custom Workflow Agent check box on the User Profile Properties or the Group Profile Properties window is selected.

A user with Admin privileges can also edit the properties of the restricted batch if the following conditions are met:

  • The Allow Batch Manager to edit batches that were granted access rights by a Custom Workflow Agent check box on the User Profile Properties or the Group Profile Properties window is selected.

  • The batch class is assigned to the user with Admin privileges.

Note If a batch is In Progress, you cannot edit its properties.
  1. On the Home tab, in the Edit group, click Properties.
    The Batch Properties window appears.
  2. From the Batch Properties window - General tab, change the priority level.
Note You can select any value from 1 to 10, with 1 being the highest priority and 10 being the lowest. The selected priority affects this batch only and does not change the priority defined for the batch class.
  3. Change the description for the batch. You can enter up to 80 characters.
  4. Change the queue for the batch. All modules defined in the batch class queue are available in the drop-down list.
  5. Change the status for the batch. You can select the following status types:
Note If a batch is In Progress, you are not able to edit its properties.
    • Error: Automatically assigns the batch to the Quality Control queue, due to an error page or document in the batch.

    • Ready: Makes the batch available for processing at the queue listed in the Queue column.

    • Reserved: Makes the batch unavailable for processing. The reserved status could be useful if you want to keep the batch from being processed. For example, you might want to assign this status if endorsing is enabled for a batch and you want to make sure the scanners at your Scan stations are set up to endorse.

    • Suspended: Suspends a batch before it is finished processing at the queue listed in the Queue column. This postpones the processing of the batch without sending it to the next queue. Note that a suspended batch is not reserved for a specific operator. Once suspended, the batch is available for processing at the designated queue to any Kofax Capture user who has rights to it.

  6. If access to the batch is allowed, you can view the list of users and groups that have access rights to the batch.
  7. Enter the Pages per document, Documents per batch, and Pages per batch. Be aware that Pages per document is only available if the batch class uses Fixed Pages as the method of separation.
  8. Change the values specified for batch fields. You can enter a value or select from the drop-down list of values.
Note Batch field information appears only if batch fields are specified for the batch class.
  9. If batch totaling is specified for the batch, you can edit the batch totals on the Totals tab.
