Batch Size Considerations

The maximum size of a single batch is 99,999 pages. When preparing your batches, use the following guidelines:

  • Large batches are typically more efficient than small batches. The more often you restart a scanner, the slower your system works overall. Do not make every new document a new batch.
  • Very large batches can be a problem, especially if individual documents or pages need to be rescanned. For example, if a single page within a large batch is rejected from any module, it could take a long time to find the physical page to rescan.

A reasonable size for a batch is about 100 pages. This keeps your scanner running at close to rated speed, but does not cause an unnecessary delay every time there is a problem with a batch. As a rule, you should keep your batches no smaller than 50 pages and no larger than 150 pages.
