Scanning Duplex on a Simplex Scanner

  1. From the Scan module, in the Scan Source list, select a source device defined for a simplex scanner.
  2. On the Scan Settings tab, in the Settings group, click Duplex on Simplex Scanner.
  3. On the Home tab, in the Scan group, click Front Sides.
  4. Place your two-sided document pages in your scanner to scan the front-side pages.
  5. On the Home tab, in the Scan group, click Scan or Scan All.

The pages in your scanner are scanned, and placeholders for the back-side pages are inserted into your batch.

  6. Take your two-sided pages from your scanner's output bin, flip them over, and place them in your scanner to scan the back-side pages. Do not reorder the pages.
  7. On the Home tab, in the Scan group, click Back Sides.
  8. On the Home tab, in the Scan group, click Scan or Scan All.

Kofax Capture searches for the last placeholder page and replaces it with the first scanned image. Then, it continues to search and replace until no more placeholders or pages exist.

  9. Check your batch to make sure all placeholders have been filled and the batch is in the correct state. If necessary, you can use any of the batch editing features to edit your batch. When your batch is complete, close the batch.
