Rejecting Pages and Documents

You can reject individual pages or entire documents. For example, if a page is too light or severely skewed, you might want to rescan it. Attaching a rejection note to a rejected document or page is a good way to communicate with other operators who might be processing the batch.

Note the following tips:

  • You can use a combination of a predefined note and a free-form note.

  • Each predefined rejection note has a number associated with it. To select one of the predefined notes, enter the applicable number.

  • Press Ctrl+Enter to start a new line in a free-form note.

  1. From the Batch Contents tree view, select the pages or documents.
  2. On the Home tab, in the Edit group, click Reject.
  3. Select a predefined rejection note and/or enter a free-form note:
    • Predefined: Use the drop-down list or enter the note number.

    • Free-form: Enter a note in the text box.

The selected page or document is rejected. A red X appears in the Batch Contents tree view next to the rejected page or document. The note attached to the rejected page or document appears in the status bar whenever that page or document is selected.
