Toolbar for Scan Source and Scanner Profiles
Use the toolbar to select a scan source or scanner profile.
- Scan Source List
-
Select a scan source (scanner or import file) to indicate how documents will be introduced into the batch processing workflow. The VRS QC Later source is used with the VRS QC Later feature in the Scan or Quality Control module.
-
When selecting a scan source name that includes
with VRS,
click the scanner icon to open the Kofax VRS Interactive Viewer to set image quality preferences. -
When selecting a scan source name that does not include
with VRS,
an Advanced Properties interface appears when you click the icon. The options may vary, based on the scanner driver (TWAIN, ISIS, or other) you are working with. - Scanner Profiles List
-
Select an existing scanner profile from the Scanner Profiles list before you start scanning a document.
You can select, save, share, revert to shared, and delete scan profiles on the Scanner Profiles toolbar.
If the User Profiles feature is enabled, the buttons on the toolbar are available if
Allow modification of Scanner Profiles
is selected in the applicable user or group profile. If the user profile differs from the group profile, the user profile setting is applied. - Save Profile
-
Click to open the Save Scanner Profile window to save source device settings to a profile. You can enter up to 37 characters, including spaces. You should give your profile a meaningful name. By default, the batch class name is used. Saving a profile automatically saves the current Kofax VRS settings to the corresponding Kofax VRS profile.
You can set up a scanner profile to be used by your batch classes by default. Normally, when a batch is opened in the Scan module, Kofax Capture displays a profile whose name matches its batch class name, if one exists.
Kofax Capture searches for scanner profiles as follows:
-
Looks for a profile with the same name as the batch class for that batch.
-
If there is none, looks for a profile called
Default.
-
If there is none, leaves the existing profile in place (if any).
-
Otherwise, does not use a profile.
If you want specific settings for a batch class, create a scanner profile with the same name as that batch class. To define a scanner profile for all other batch classes, create one called
Default.
If you want the scan settings to remain unspecified, do not create a scanner profile calledDefault.
-
