Selecting Import Settings

You select import settings in the Source Properties window.

Tip A convenient way to use a set of source device settings is to save them to a source profile. Then, whenever you want to use the settings, you can simply select a profile.

  1. On the Scan panel, next to Scan Source, click Edit Scan Source Settings.
  2. In the Source Properties window, select settings:
    1. Enable a picking rectangle for the front and/or back sides of your images. Then, select the top, left, width and height values for the rectangle. The back side settings are only available for duplex scanning.
    2. Set a rotation for the front and/or back sides of your images.

The images are saved in their rotated state.

    3. Select a blank page deletion threshold for the front and/or back sides of your images. The threshold defines the minimum size that the compressed image must be in KB to be saved. For example, if you specify a threshold of 1, any image that contains less than 1 KB of data is considered a blank page and not saved.
    4. Select a prescan cache value that determines the number of images to cache in memory on the hardware accelerator. The number of images cached cannot exceed the amount of memory on the accelerator.
    5. Select a page timeout value that determines the amount of time allowed for processing a single page. If the processing is not completed in the specified time, the process is stopped and a timeout error is reported.
  3. Click OK to save your selections.
