Applying Speckle Filter Settings

Use the Speckle Filter settings to remove speckles from black and white images.

  1. Scan a test black and white image and open the VRS Interactive Viewer.
  2. On the Image Quality tab, in the Black & White group, click Speckle Filter.
  3. Do one of the following:

    • Move the slider toward Small if removal of small speckles achieves the desired image quality.

    • Move the slider toward the midpoint if removal of small and medium speckles achieves the desired image quality.

    • Move the slider toward Large if removal of small, medium, and large speckles achieves the desired image quality.

    • Click in the Speckle Size box and enter a value.

  4. Adjust other settings or start scanning.
