Applying Brightness, Contrast, and Gamma Settings

Use the Brightness, Contrast, and Gamma settings to adjust the overall density of an image and its lightness or darkness. You can set Brightness and Contrast values per color mode.

Note As soon as you select a Brightness or Contrast value, Auto Brightness and Auto Contrast are turned off.
  1. Scan a test image and open the VRS Interactive Viewer.
  2. On the Image Quality tab, in the Clarity group, click Brightness & Contrast.

    The Brightness & Contrast window appears.

  3. Do one of the following to adjust the Brightness:
    • On the Brightness & Contrast window, click in the Brightness box and enter a value.

    • Move the Brightness slider control up or down to select a value.

  4. Do one of the following to adjust the Contrast:
    • On the Brightness & Contrast window, click in the Contrast box and enter a value.

    • Move the Contrast slider control up or down to select a value.

    Note You can adjust the Brightness and Contrast at the same time by adjusting the button at the intersection of the Brightness and Contrast grid lines.
  5. Do one of the following to adjust the Gamma:
    • On the Brightness & Contrast window, click in the Gamma box and enter a value.

    • Move the Gamma slider control up or down to select a value.
