Selecting a Scanner

Kofax Express automatically detects the scanner that is connected to your computer. Use the Select Scanner window to select the scanner to use with Kofax Express. Or, to process images without a scanner, use FolderScan to import them from a folder.

  1. On the Scan Settings tab, in the Settings group, click Scanner.
  2. On the Scan Settings tab, in the Scanner group, click Select.

    The Select Scanner window displays a list that includes FolderScan and the name of each scanner that is currently connected to your computer.

    If your scanner does not appear in the list, verify that it is connected properly and powered on, and then click Retry.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Click the name of the scanner you plan to use.

    • Click FolderScan.

  4. Click OK.

    The name of the reserved scanner or FolderScan appears as the Current Scanner on the toolbar below the Ribbon, and the appropriate scan profile is applied.

    The selected scanner or FolderScan is automatically associated with the job that is currently open. The selection remains active until you change it again.
