Database Lookup Setup Window
Use the Database Lookup Setup window to specify which ODBC data source is used to link your index field to a database. After connecting to the database, set the lookup field used to retrieve database values for other index fields.
Data Source Specification
- ODBC data source

Sets the ODBC data source used to link your index field to a database. The data source list is based on the user or system ODBC data source names configured from your ODBC Data Source Administrator.
- Refresh
- Updates the list of ODBC data sources to reflect the most recent changes.
- User name

Sets the user name for the login required to access the data source, if applicable.
- Password
-
Sets the password for the login required to access the data source, if applicable.
- Workgroup file name

Sets the name of the Workgroup information file associated with the Microsoft Access database, if you select an Access data source that is password protected. Click Browse to navigate to the file name.
- Connect
-
Connects to the database associated with the data source you specified. After the connection is established, the Lookup Information settings are available.
Lookup Information
- Table
-
Sets the name of the table containing the lookup field for which values are retrieved for indexing. The list includes all tables associated with the selected data source.
- Lookup field
-
Sets the field from which values are retrieved for indexing. The list of lookup fields is based on the table selection. The values for this field appear on the Indexing panel.
- Description field

(Optional) Sets another field to serve as a secondary description of the lookup field. On the Indexing panel, the values for the Description field appear along with the values for the lookup field.
- Load entire table

Retrieves the full database table containing all records from the database. Recommended for small to medium tables.
- Load matching rows only

Retrieves only the database table rows that contain matching data. Recommended for large tables, to minimize delayed response time.
