Deskewing an Image Automatically

Use Deskew to automatically straighten images that are crooked when they scan. The deskew process is based on detection of the image edges or the image content.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On the Scan Settings tab, in the Settings group, click VRS General.

    • On the VRS Corrections tab, in the Corrections group, click VRS General.

  2. In the Automatic Corrections group, click Deskew.
  3. Click the arrow next to Auto Deskew, and then click one or both of the following:
    • Edges: Straightens image by detecting the edges.

    • Content: Straightens image by detecting the content.

If you select both Edges and Content, and the Edges deskew method is not successful, the Content method is attempted.

  4. Adjust other settings or start scanning.
