Rotating Pages

Apply standard rotation settings to ensure that the same rotation is applied to every page (regardless of its content) in a batch. The setting you apply is based on the page orientation (portrait or landscape) and the direction that pages are facing when you feed them through the scanner.

For example, if a portrait page is fed bottom first (text pointing down), select 180º to indicate that the page should be automatically rotated 180 degrees. If no rotation is necessary, select 0º.

If you are scanning both sides of every document, separate rotation settings are available for the front and back.

  1. On the Scan Settings tab, in the Settings group, click Scanner.
  2. On the Scan Settings tab, in the Rotation group, click Front to view the list of rotation settings for the front page.
  3. Click a rotation setting for the front page.
  4. If you are scanning both sides, and you want to override the default back side rotation, click Back to view the list of rotation settings for the back page.
  5. Click a rotation setting for the back page.

If a duplex preview page is available, the back side of the image appears in the viewer so you can see the effect of the back side rotation setting. If no back side image is available, the back side rotation setting is applied to subsequent images that you scan.

  6. Arrange documents uniformly in the scanner feeder, because the same rotation settings are applied to every page in the batch.
  7. Start scanning the batch.
