Deactivating the Product License

You must deactivate the license if you plan to remove Kofax Express and reuse the license when the product is installed on another computer; otherwise, deactivation is not required.

You need a working Internet connection to deactivate the Kofax Express license. If necessary, go to another computer with a working Internet connection and deactivate your license here:

Use the following deactivation procedure only if you have an active software license. If you are using a hardware key to license the product, deactivate the license by removing the hardware key from the USB port.

  1. On the Help tab, in the License group, click Deactivate.

    The Deactivate Kofax Express window appears.

  2. Make a note of the license information, which is required if you reinstall the product and reactivate the license later on another computer.
  3. Click Deactivate.
  4. Do one of the following, as applicable:
    • Click OK to clear the message that confirms successful license deactivation.

    • If no Internet connection is available to contact the Kofax license server, the Deactivate - Connection Failed window appears. If you click Retry without success, click Cancel to display the Deactivate - No Internet Connection window. Then follow the onscreen instructions, which explain how to use another computer to deactivate the license.
