Advanced Properties - Multifeed - Canon DR-X10C Scanners

The Multifeed panel is used to specify operating preferences associated with multifeed detection.

Document Length

Select Enable to specify that the scanner should analyze the length of each page in a batch to detect pages that do not match the paper size selected in the scanning application. If a change in page length is detected, a multifeed condition is reported. This setting is appropriate for batches that are expected to consist of identical page sizes.

Ultrasonic Sensor

Select theEnable check box to specify that the ulstrasonic sensors in the scanner should be used to detect multifeed conditions. The ultrasonic sensors, which detect overlapping pages, are useful for processing batches that consist of mixed paper sizes.

For details about the scanner sensors, see your Canon scanner documentation

Sensors

Select the Left, Center, or Right check boxes as appropriate to indicate which sensors should be activated.

Non-Detection Zones

You can specify certain zones that should be ignored by the scanner sensors. For example, if you have a note affixed to the lower left corner of a page, you can designate the lower left region as a non-detection zone. As a result, a multifeed exception is not reported as the affected page is scanned.

If the non-detection zone values are set to zero, the sensors detect the entire contents of each page.
