Configuring Settings

Prepare to scan documents by doing the following:

  • Use the Job Setup tab to create or manage job settings and indicate if automatic document separation will be used. You can also specify preferences for raw images and export settings for sending batches to a document management or storage system.

When you start Kofax Express the first time, a demo job called "Scan to Desktop" is opened automatically. Use the Job Setup tab only if you want to update the settings associated with the demo job, or if you want to create a new job.

  • Use the Scan Settings tab to apply settings that ensure the best possible image quality results for your batches. Default settings are automatically preselected; update them if necessary.
  • Use the Bar Code Setup tab and the Index Setup tab to configure settings related to bar code detection and indexing.
