Creating a Batch

By default, the first batch in a job is named Batch001, and subsequent batches are sequentially numbered.

To ensure sequential numbering of subsequent batches, a batch name must include a suffix that consists of numeric characters. Be sure that the length of the numeric suffix supports the number of batches that you expect to scan. For example, the name "Batch001" supports Batch001 through Batch999. After Batch999, the next batch sequence would start over with Batch001. If you do not need subsequent batches to be automatically numbered, assign a batch name without numeric characters.

To set a unique batch name, change the name directly from the Batches panel, or use the Job Setup tab. When a new batch is created, the current document number is set to 1.

  1. On the Home tab, in the New group, click New Batch.

A new batch is added to the list on the Batches panel with the focus placed on the batch name.

  2. Do one of the following:
    • Press Enter to accept the default batch name.

    • Type another name for the batch and press Enter to confirm it.
