Removing Speckles from Black and White Images

Use this procedure to remove excessive speckling from black and white images.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the Scan Settings tab, in the Settings group, click VRS General.

    • On the VRS Corrections tab, in the Corrections group, click VRS General.

  2. In the B & W Filters group, use the slider to set the acceptable level of speckling:

    • Move the slider to the left to remove small speckles.

    • Move the slider to the middle to remove small and medium speckles.

    • Move the slider to the right to remove all speckles. Be sure to verify that the appropriate level of detail is preserved after the speckles are removed.
