Automatically Rotating Pages

Use Auto Rotate to automatically rotate images that are scanned in a non-standard (such as upside-down) orientation. The rotation of the scanned image is based on the detected text content. For example, Kofax Express may detect text that has been scanned sideways. Based on the assessment, the image is automatically rotated 90 degrees.

Auto Rotate eliminates the need to presort batches before scanning to ensure that the documents are facing in the same direction. As necessary, the images are automatically rotated at scan time. If Auto Rotate cannot determine the rotation with confidence, the standard rotation settings are applied.

If you are using index fields that contain bar codes, use Auto Rotate to ensure that the bar codes are read in the correct order.

Auto Rotate supports the ability to detect page content in English, French, Italian, Spanish, and German, as well as Arabic, Cyrillic, Greek, and the Asian languages. If you apply Auto Rotate, it has the potential of adversely impacting performance.
