Getting Started
With Kofax Express, the typical task flow is similar to the following:
- Configure Settings
- Scan and View Pages
- Apply Corrections
- Edit Documents
- Index Batches
- Export Batches
Before proceeding, familiarize yourself with the following Kofax Express terms:
- Job: Saved configuration that consists of bar code and index definitions as well as settings related to document
separation, export, and more. Within a job, you create batches that consist of scanned documents and images.
Kofax Express
includes two
demo jobs: Scan to
Desktop and Patient Records.
The Scan to SharePoint demo job available in earlier versions of Kofax Express is deprecated in Kofax Express 3.3.0.
- Job template: Predefined job settings on which new jobs can be based. Kofax Express includes three predefined job templates, which contain pre-configured settings: Basic, Indexing, and Bar Code Indexing.
- Batch: Group of scanned documents
- Document: Set of one or more related images
- Image: Electronic representation of a scanned page
- Page: Physical sheet fed through the scanner to produce an image (or two images with duplex scanning)
