Setting Toggle Color Mode - Ngenuity Scanners
- Start your scan application.
- Confirm that Automatic Color Detection is not selected; Toggle Color Mode is not available while automatic color detection is active.

Configure black and white scanner settings:
- In your scanning application, set the color mode to black and white.
- Scan a black and white page as a test document.
- In the viewing area, inspect the scanned image and do the following:

Optionally select Auto Brightness if you want Kofax VRS to automatically set the appropriate brightness for each image. Auto Brightness is selected by default.

Select black and white Kofax VRS settings for brightness, contrast, and gamma.

Select the
Toggle Color Mode feature:
- On the Kofax VRS Image Quality tab, in the Scanner group, click Driver Settings.

On the
Advanced Properties window, click the
Toggle Color Mode panel.
The Advanced Properties - Toggle Color Mode panel displays the Current mode section with the black and white Kofax VRS settings that you selected in the previous step.
- Select the Use patch code detection to toggle color mode check box.
- On the Black and White DPI list box, select a dpi value for scanning black and white documents. The default dpi is 200.
- Click OK.
- Insert toggle patch sheets into the batch to indicate where you want the scanner to switch color modes.
- In your scanning application, set the color mode to grayscale or color.
- Adjust other scanning properties or start scanning.
