Deleting Blank Pages

Select blank page deletion to automatically detect and delete blank pages.

Use the Content Sensitivity setting to determine whether a page is detected as blank. Content Sensitivity establishes the "tolerance" threshold for content and the likelihood of determining that a page is blank. For example, if you select a low Content Sensitivity setting, a page that contains small amounts of content (such as speckles) is considered blank. As a result, the blank page is detected and removed if blank page deletion is selected. If you select a high Content Sensitivity setting, the same page is not considered blank and it is not removed.

Content sensitivity is not affected by the background color.

  1. On the Scan Settings tab, in the Settings group, click VRS General.
  2. On the Scan Settings tab, in the Automatic Corrections group, click the top of the Delete Blank control.
  3. Click the bottom of the Delete Blank control to view and adjust related settings:
    • Use the Content Sensitivity slider to adjust the level of sensitivity to content on a page. Or, select a value in the Content Sensitivity box instead of using the slider. The range of values is 1 to 100, where 1 = Very Noisy and 100 = Very Clean.

    • Click Ignore Hole Punches to indicate that hole punch marks should not be considered when the assessment of page "blankness" is performed.
