Configuration

The setup process involves the following steps:

  1. Choose and configure a profile.
  2. Associate Highlight and Redact Extender with a connector profile: Map extender output to any eCopy connector.
  3. Scan with the service.

Note the following usage guidelines:

  • The .xls and .xlsx file formats are not supported for use with the Highlight and Redact Extender configured with 'Highlight text' or 'Cross out' text Markup type.
  • Due to the processing required for document markup (highlight, redact, cross out) for the best performance on larger documents, Kofax recommends using this Extender with background processing enabled.
  • The associated connector profile must either specify a supported file format or must allow the user to change the file format at runtime.
  • The Highlight and Redact extender mark up operations are performed during the output document creation. Therefore, other extenders configured after a Highlight & Redact Extender work with the original input images.
