Specifying default scanner settings

Set defaults for specific devices or all in your deployment.

Configure scanner settings for a device

  1. In the Administration Console, select the Devices tab.
  2. Select the device you want to configure.
  3. In the Settings pane, select the Scanner tab. The information you see depends on the device you are using.
  4. Specify the default scanner settings in Scanner defaults.
  5. Click Save.

Description

Resolution

The following resolution types are available: DPI 100, DPI 150, DPI 200, DPI 300, DPI 400, and DPI 600.

Input paper size

The following input paper sizes are available: Letter, Letter R, Legal, Ledger, Statement, Statement R, A4, A4 R, A3, A5, A5 R, B4, B5, B5 R, Auto, and Mixed.

Output paper size

The following output paper sizes are is available: Letter, Legal, Ledger, Statement, A4, A3, A5, B4, B5, and Auto (default value).

Orientation

The following orientation types are available: Portrait, Landscape, and Same as originals.

Scaling

Scaling can be adjusted between 25-100 percent.

Color

The following color options are available: Black and white (B&W), Grayscale, Full color, Auto color grayscale, and Auto color B&W.

Image mode

The following image modes are available: Text, Text photo, and Photo.

Two sided

The following two-sided modes are available: Single sided, Double book, and Double calendar.

Image quality adjustment label

The following image quality adjustment labels are available: Remove background, Prevent bleedthru, and None.

Inverse

Select the Yes check box to enable Inverse.

Deskew

Select the Yes check box to enable Deskew.

Mirror

Select the Yes check box to enable Mirror.

Two page separation

Select the Yes check box to enable Two page separation.

Brightness

Brightness can be adjusted between 10-90 percent.

Sharpness

Sharpness can be adjusted between 10-90 percent.

The User modify option in the Scanner defaults tab enables you to specify whether or not the users at the device can override settings.

Hide scanner settings

This setting enables hiding/showing the scanner settings on the device Main or Preview screen. You can find it in: Administration Console > Devices tab > select device > select Scanner tab (in Settings pane) > Scanner Defaults > Hide scanner settings

The following options are available:

  • Hide: Scanner settings will not be available on the Main or Preview screen
  • Show: Scanner settings will be available on the Main and Preview screen
  • Flyout: (only available on ScanStation): Scanner settings will be available through the vertical flyout on the Main screen
