Advanced file naming settings

The ShareScan Field Editor is used by connectors that have Advanced file naming functionality to add or edit fields that the user sees at the device. The advanced file name generated at the device is composed of one or more fields.

To create an advanced file name:

1. In the Add/Edit file name fields window, click New. The Field Editor window opens.
2. Enter a name for the field.
3. Select the field type. Your selection causes the window to display the appropriate fields for the field type.
4. Optionally, enter the default value for the field.
5. Select User modify if you want the user at the device to be able to modify the default value at the device.
6. Click OK to return to the Add/Edit file name fields window.
7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 to add more fields to the file name.
8. When the file name is complete, click Done. The file name format is saved for the connector profile.
