Image cleanup settings

In this section the user can define some image processing operations that should be performed before processing the pages using either Form processing or Barcode processing mode.

Image Modification Settings: By pressing the Add/Remove buttons, the user can add simple image pre-processing operations to the list which will be executed in the same order as they are in the list.

Modify Output Images: This check box controls whether the result of image processing operations should be included in the output document or not. By default, the image processing operations are executed on the fly, and the result image is used only for performing the form processing but the processed image will not be saved to the output document. By selecting this check box, the user can change this behavior.

Follow the below steps to configure Image Cleanup:

  1. To apply image enhancement to the output images, select the Modify Output Images check box. If you leave it cleared, cleanup is only applied to temporary images used in the recognition process.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Select from the available cleanup options:
    • AutoRotate: Determines the proper orientation.
    • Deskew: Auto-rotates the document so that the alignment is corrected.
    • Despeckle: Removes stray dots.
    • Remove Grid Lines: Erases grid lines from the image.
    • Rotate: Rotates the image by 90, 180, or 270 degrees.
    • Smooth: Softens outlines.
    • Thick: Increases line width.
    • Thin: Decreases line width.
  4. Click OK to add the selected cleanup option to the Image Modification Settings window.

To apply multiple image modifications, click Add again and select another operation.

The functionality covered in this section works the same way as in FPE.
