Home tab

Use commands on the File menu to create new configurations, save changes to a configuration, print a task, email, or close a configuration file. The file menu also displays commands to configure or close the application.

The Home tab on the AutoStore Process Designer ribbon has the following commands.

File group

Command Description
New Creates a new configuration. Click this button to open the Task Properties dialog box in which you can specify the name and configure other options for the first task in the configuration. Clicking OK adds the new configuration as a tab at the top of the workspace. The tab is initially labeled CFG followed by an ordinal number. You will be prompted to enter a file name the first time that you save the configuration.

To use a template to create a new configuration, click the New menu, and then click the template file name on the menu. To appear on the New menu, a template file must be saved to the Template directory specified in the APD Options.

Open Opens an existing configuration or template file. Click this button to open the Open dialog box. In the Open dialog box, you can specify either CFG Configuration (*.cfg) or CTF Template (*.ctf) to browse for configuration or configuration template files.
Close Closes the currently active configuration file displayed in the workspace.
Save Saves changes to the active configuration file (.cfg) or configuration template file (.ctf). This command is unavailable after you create, open, or save a configuration until after you add the capture component to a new configuration or make changes to an existing configuration. You can click the Save menu and then click either Save to save a configuration or template to the current file or click Save as to save a configuration or template to a different file.
Send Emails a copy of the configuration file for the active configuration displayed in the workspace using the default email application for your Windows profile.

Task group

Command Description
Properties Open the Task Properties dialog box in which you can edit the name and configure other options for the currently visible task in the active configuration.
Add Opens the Task Properties dialog box in which you can specify the name and configure other options for a new task in the configuration. Clicking OK adds the task to the active configuration.

To add tasks from a template to the active configuration, click the Add menu, and then click the template file name on the menu. To appear on the Add menu, a template file must be saved to the Template directory specified in the APD Options.

Delete Deletes the currently visible task in the active configuration. This button is inactive when there is just one task in a configuration. A configuration must have at least one task.
Copy Copies the currently visible task to the clipboard.
Paste Copies a task from the clipboard into the active configuration. The task is labeled by the copied task name appended by "Copy".
Arrange Aligns the chain of tasks in the current task with equal length connector lines.

Tools group

Command Description
License Manager Opens License Manager to review licensing for AutoStore and its components. For more information, see License Manager.
Status Monitor Opens Status Monitor application to monitor status of AutoStore workflows. For more information, see Status Monitor.
Service Manager Opens the Service Manager application to configure the AutoStore service. For more information, see Service Manager.
Start Starts the AutoStore service using the currently saved file for the active configuration. Make sure that you save changes to a configuration before you start the AutoStore service.
Stop Stops the AutoStore server.
Restart Stops and then starts the AutoStore service using the currently saved file for the active configuration. Make sure that you save changes to a configuration before you restart the AutoStore service.

Help group

Command Description
Help Contents Click this button to open the contents for the AutoStore help that is available locally on your AutoStore server.

You can click the menu to choose to open either the Help Offline that is installed on your local server or the Help Online that is located on the Internet.

If online help does not display satisfactorily, you may have to update to the latest version of your web browser.
About Displays information about the current installation of AutoStore Process Designer.
Knowledge Base Opens the web page for the Kofax AutoStore Knowledge Base.
Software Updates Opens the Software Manager wizard, which allows you to check for and install the most recent update for the product.
