Remove a node in Configuration Assistant

To remove a node automatically, do the following:

  1. Launch the Configuration Assistant application found in C:\Program Files\Kofax\Configuration Assistant.
  2. Navigate to the Security Framework Status page.
    If ControlSuite has not yet been configured, to go Configuring ControlSuite for the full set of configuration steps. Otherwise, continue with the following steps.
  3. If the node to be removed is Offline, click the Refresh icon to sync the node with its database. This can take a few minutes.
  4. Click the Actions icon next to the node to be removed and then click Remove.
  5. A warning pop-up opens indicating that a security node will be removed from the database. To continue with the removal process, select a remote security framework server to connect to and click Apply.
    After the node is removed, a client configuration tool must be run on each workstation that is pointing to the security framework node being removed. This tool can be run anytime in advance of decommissioning a node as long as the workstation points to a live node. Use this utility to redirect the workstations to another available node. Click Cancel if updates to the workstation client after removing the node are not yet planned.
  6. A Removing the local Security Framework node pop-up shows the uninstallation status. Close the window when done, and restart Configuration Assistant.
  7. Proceed to Security client configuration utility to redirect the workstations to an available node.
