Work queue automation

You can use work queue automation rules in an activity to action automation requests for users and complete or reassign activities for the users based on the rule logic.

You can either use an existing work queue automation rule or create a new one.

If advanced workflow rules are configured for the activity, a warning message appears which states: Work queue automation cannot update resources assigned to an activity when AWR is configured.

When you associate a rule with an activity in the process, previous versions of the process or any live jobs will not have any association with the rule.

When you edit a process and associate a rule, and if you revert the process, the association between the activity and the rule no longer exists, but the work queue automation rule remains, as it is independent of the process.

When you edit a process with the existing rule associated with an activity and when you change it to a the different rule, any new jobs on the process use the latest version and live jobs on the previous version use the original rule.

  1. On the properties panel of the activity, click the Work queue automation tab.

    • Only simple data types are supported.
