Bar codes

Bar code detection

If selected, displays the other properties.

Bar code type

Add the bar code types. For the supported bar code and patch code types, see Bar code and patch code types supported by TotalAgility.

Bar code checksum

Enables the checksum stripping for Codabar, Code39, and Interleaved 2 of 5 bar code types. (Default: Clear)

When bar code found

Select one of the following options:

  • Keep page: The page is not deleted.

  • Delete page: The page is deleted only when it contains any bar code configured for detection.

  • Delete page with specific bar code value: The page is deleted only when it contains any bar code value that matches the configured static text or a regular expression. For more information see Additional information on the deletion of scanned pages.

    Value search text

It allows you to specify the static bar code value.

    Search text uses regular expression

It allows you to specify the regular expression.

  • Delete page with specific bar code type: The page is deleted only when it contains any bar code with a specific type configured for deletion. You can also add the set of bar code types available. If you want to detect Aztec, Codabar, and Code 128, then you cannot add Data Matrix. For more information see Additional information on the deletion of scanned pages.

Delete duplicate bar code values

This option is visible only when the keep page option is selected. Select one of the following:

  • Never: Search for duplicates is not performed. Any page in a batch can have duplicate bar code values.

  • Within the page: Search for duplicates is performed within the current page only. The first found value is retained, remaining duplicates are removed. Different pages still can have bar codes with the same values.

  • Within the document: Search for duplicates is performed within the current document only so duplicates are removed from all pages of the document. The first found value is retained, remaining duplicates are removed. Pages of different documents still can have bar codes with the same values.

  • Within the activity: Search for duplicates is performed within the base folder of the activity (including all documents in all subfolders). The first found value is retained, remaining duplicates are removed. The base folder only has unique bar code values.

When the activity is configured to work on a single document, the "Within the activity" option behaves like the "Within the document " option.

  • Searching for duplicates considers only the bar code value and does not consider the bar code type, orientation, and coordinates. Comparison of bar code values is case insensitive.

  • During page replacement, the bar code and patch code rules are handled in the same way as during scanning except for page deletion where the replaced page is not deleted even if it satisfies deletion rules defined in the profile.

Patch codes

Patch code detection

  • Delete page: The page is deleted only when it contains any patch code configured for detection.

  • Delete page with specific patch code: The page is deleted only when specific patch code configured for deletion. For more information see Additional information on deletion of scanned pages.
