Set threshold for a primary server

TotalAgility displays the primary license server details (if installed). You can set threshold values for a primary server so that you can take corrective actions before running out of volume.

See License servers and statistics.

You cannot set the thresholds for reserve licenses in the Designer for an on-premise multi-tenant environment. The reserve licenses can be used in any environment. However, these licenses cannot be allocated to tenants in an on-premise multi-tenant environment, so such licenses do not appear in the list of licenses in TotalAgility Designer.

  1. Navigate to System > System settings > License servers and statistics > Primary server statistics.

The Primary server statistics dialog box is displayed.

  2. By default, the Information tab displays the following primary server statistics:

    • Serial number: The serial number provided when you installed TotalAgility.

    • System licenses, Station licenses, and Volume licenses: Details, such as license name, available licenses, license expiration date, and more.

  3. To receive alerts when a certain number of primary licenses are used, click the Thresholds tab and do the following:
    1. Select the check box for the license type. (Default: Clear. This means that no alerts are sent.)

      Available license types are:

      • Concurrent full users (Default: 100)

      • Concurrent full users - reserve (Default: 100)

      • Imaging page count (Default: 10,000)

      • Imaging page count - reserve (Default: 10,000)

      • Transformation page count (Default: 10,000)

      • Transformation page count - reserve (Default: 10,000)

    2. Enter or increment the license threshold value. For example, to receive an alert when 9,000 of 10,000 licenses are used, set the threshold value to 9,000.
    3. To specify the number of days prior to license expiration, select the check box for License expiration (days) and decrement the value. (Default: 60 days)

If any licenses in the system are due to expire within the specified days, an exception is raised.

  4. Click Save.

When the Monitoring system task runs, the system checks the current usage for each license type.

Additional information

If the current usage exceeds any of the threshold values set, the license volume threshold alert is raised, which in turn creates a new job for the process map configured. See Exception maps and initialization parameters.

When a license is depleted, the system automatically starts using the reserve licenses. If users log on with a reserve user license, a message appears that a reserve license is in use. If licenses run out, a message appears to inform the user that licenses are not available, preventing the user from log in.

If the volume license runs out after you open a Scan activity, you can still create a job, complete the activity, and save any scanned pages. This can happen if the license has only one page of volume left, and you scan more than one page, or, if after you enter the activity and another user completes an activity, the available volume is reduced to zero.

You can send an alert in the following scenarios:

  • When the sum of the one-time use and annually recurring transformation volume reaches the threshold defined in the Transformation page count.

  • When the sum of the one-time use and annually recurring imaging volume reaches the threshold defined in the Imaging page count.

  • When the sum of the one-time use and annually recurring reserve transformation volume reaches the threshold defined in the Transformation page count - reserve.

  • When the sum of the one-time use and annually recurring reserve imaging volume reaches the threshold defined in the Imaging page count – reserve.
