File store encryption troubleshooting

Issue Possible cause
File store is in pending state for a long time.
  • Output Manager system or file store is busy. Verify the logs in the Message Console for additional information.
  • In a high availability or distributed high availability environment, if the file store has been shared, remove the share from the folder and allow the file store to return to a Ready state. Share the file store again before you encrypt or decrypt the file store.
  • A recovery certificate might be expired on your computer. If you find an error about an invalid recovery certificate in the Message Console, then contact technical support.
Encryption or decryption fails.
  • File store might be open.
  • The user trying to decrypt a file store is not the same user who encrypted the file store.
