Prepare for VPSX integration

In order for Equitrac to communicate with VPSX, the LRS VPSX COM API must be installed on each DCE that communicates with an LRS server.

  1. Open a web browser, and go to the LRS website at http://www.lrs.com/EOM/ics/login.aspx.
  2. Login for Product Support, and download the installation executable file.
  3. Run the installation file on each DCE that communicates with an LRS server. The C:\lrs\LAN\Install\ VPSX_for_Windows folder is created.
  4. Run either the VPSXAPIINST64 (64-bit) or VPSAPIIINST (32-bit) executable file to open the VPSX Window API InstallShield Wizard.
  5. When installed, the files are placed in C:\Program Files\lrs\VPSX_Windows_API.
  6. After installation, the VPSX server root directory (C:\lrsroot\vpsxroot) is created containing the PullPrintHosts file. Edit the file to add the DNS names or IP addresses of the Equitrac servers which issue COM requests to VPSX.

Equitrac can now communicate with VPSX using the LRS VPSX COM API.
