Create an I-Queue printer

The I-Queue printer is auto-created on the DRE print server when the DRE I-Queue feature is installed using the Equitrac Installer, or on a client workstation when the DRC feature is installed using the Equitrac Client Installer. If the I-Queue is added in Web System Manager before installing the DRE I-Queue feature, or installing DRC, then the I-Queue printer immediately appears in the Windows built-in printer list after you have run the installation. If the I-Queue is added after DRC/DRE is installed, the I-Queue printer does not appear on the client workstation until DRC/DRE synchronizes its cache with CAS. After the I-Queue printer has been added and the appropriate printer drivers have been associated in Web System Manager with the available networked printers, then the user can send jobs to the I-Queue printer on their workstation and release their jobs at any system-configured printer.

Depending on the I-Queue printing mode setting at the server side, different printers are available on the workstation client computers:

  • I-Queue: Only an I-Queue printer appears in the printers list of Windows.
  • I-Queue Direct: Only an I-Queue Direct printer appears in the printers list of Windows.

This setting is modified in the I-Queue page in Web System Manager. The current setting is sent to the DRC servers at every DRC cache update (Equitrac synchronizes the DRC cache once every 24 hours). After synchronizing its cache, the I-Queue printer is available to use.

The I-Queue printers are created or removed at every DRC cache update based on the selected printing mode of the server.
If the I-Queue printer is deleted from Web System Manager, then the I-Queue and I-Queue Direct printers are removed from the client workstation once the DRC synchronizes its cache with CAS.
