General tab

This shows the various configuration options available on the General tab.

Option	Description
Activate	Use this combo box to activate the component according to a condition. For more information, see Conditional Activation.
Pass through	Set this option to Yes to pass the original document to subsequent components in the workflow. You can use conditions in this field (see Conditional Activation). If you enter an invalid condition into Pass through box, the activation is No by default.
Type of HL7 Message	Use the dropdown menu to select what type of message you want to create. The available options are: V2 V3
V2 NewLine character(s)	For V2 messages, you can set the line delimiter characters here. The available options are: CR+LF: carriage return and line feed together. LF: line feed. CR: carriage return. Be aware that the line delimiter may be influenced by the server type you are using. Ensure that you select the correct type, recognized by your server.
Save message to RRT	Use the dropdown list to select whether the sent message content is saved to an RRT. This ensures that the following components in the workflow can use the HL7 message as an RRT. The available options are: Yes No
Address	Specify the IP address of the HL7 message server or application you are using.
Port	Specify the port used by your HL7 message server or application.
Transport Protocol	Select the transport protocol to be used. The available options are: MLLP: Minimal Low-Level Protocol RAW HTTP: only available if Type of HL7 Message is V3.
Test connection	Click this button to test the connection between HL7 Messenger and your HL7 message server or application.
Outbound character encoding	Specify the outbound character encoding of your HL7 message.
Inbound character encoding	Specify the inbound character encoding of your HL7 message.
