VersaLink properties

Begin VersaLink configuration by doing the following:
  1. Log on to the device as a user with administrator privileges.
  2. Click the Properties tab.

Continue with the procedures for the different types of settings.

VersaLink SNMP settings

  1. Select Connectivity.
  2. Click SNMP.

    The SNMP window appears.

  3. Click SNMPV3.
  4. In the SNMPV3 window that appears, complete the following settings:
    1. Turn on Enable (Read).
    2. Turn on Write.
    3. Turn on System Administrator Account.
    4. For Message Digest Algorithm, select either MD5 or SHA-1. This must match the settings for the device in DRS.
    5. For Message Encryption Algorithm, select either DES or AES-128. This must match the settings for the device in DRS.
    6. Enter the user name, authentication password, and encryption password for the device administrator.
    7. Click OK.

VersaLink device user permission settings

  1. Create user roles by doing the following:
    1. Click Permissions > Roles.
    2. Select Device User Roles.
    3. Create user roles by clicking .
    4. Select Add New Role.
    5. In the Add Role window, select one of these options under Control Panel Permissions:
      • Everything Except Setup: Users can access everything except setup and configuration functions.

      • Access All: Users can access all options.

      • Custom Permissions: Select the permissions to apply to the users. Click Setup and chose individual options and select Add or Hide to choose which options are visible to the users.

      When you are finished, click Close.

    6. Under Device Website Permissions, select the options, which are the same as in step 1.e.
    7. Click OK to save the settings.
  2. To modify roles for basic users, under the Basic User section, click Edit and do the following:
    1. Select Add New Role.
    2. Select options for Control Panel Permissions and Device Website Permissions, which are the same as in step 1.e.
  3. Add users to the user roles by doing the following:
    1. Under the desired device user role section, select Members.

      A list of the users that are currently assigned to that role appears.

    2. Click and select the users to add.

VersaLink DWS certificate acceptance

  1. Select System > Security > Security Certificates.

    The Security Certificates window appears.

  2. In place of Device Certificates, select Trusted Root CA Certificates.

    Do not delete any of the other certificates installed on the device.

  3. Click Import and follow the instructions to install the certificate you exported from DWS.
  4. Enable certificate validation as follows:
    1. Select Apps > EIP Settings.
    2. Enable Verify Server Certificates.
    3. Select System > Security Certificate Revocation Settings.
    4. Set Level of Certificate Verification to Medium.
  5. Restart the device when prompted.
