Install CA Certificate in case Mass Deployment Tool is not in use

These steps are only required when Mass Deployment Tool is not used for installation on DRS.

  1. Copy the dws-root-ca.der file from this path: C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Nuance\Integrated\DWS\webserver\conf.
    The AppData folder is hidden. To view the folder, select View > Hidden items check box.
  2. Open the Certificate Manager console on your computer, find the certificate.
  3. Right click on the certificate, select All Tasks.
  4. Select Export. The Certificate Export Wizard opens.
  5. Select Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER) then click Next.
  6. Enter the file name in the File name field and select the store path, then click Next.
  7. Click Finish to complete the certificate export.
  8. Launch a web browser and enter the following URL: http://<IP Address> or http://<Device Name> of your Brother MFP to access your device Web Admin.
  9. Navigate to Administrator > Solutions > CA Certificate.
  10. Delete any existing CA Certificates from the device.
  11. Under CA Certificate, select Import CA Certificate.
  12. Click Choose File. Select the dws-root-ca.der file you have previously copied.
  13. Click Submit to save your changes.
Note: Installing with the dws-root-ca.der file would cause the error "The specified file cannot be found or it is not in X.509 certificate compliant PEM format.
