Use Quick search box

Insight enables you to search the views and view components available on the menu. For example, you are looking for components related to "paid invoices." In this case, you can enter "paid invoices" in the enabled search box and look through the returned components. For the quick search, Insight uses names and descriptions for views, and titles and descriptions for components. To enable the search box, complete the following steps.

  1. Select the Menu component and type Show the quick search box in the Property panel.
  2. Select the Show the quick search box option to enable the feature.
  3. When the quick search option is enabled, you can configure the appearance, such as position, style, and more, using the corresponding settings in the Quick search group of settings in the Property panel.
  4. Save the changes.

Quick search text

The search is done by using the template [SearchText] [([Description])], which is defined in the Quick search text field in the Property panel for views and components.

[SearchText] is a template for the title of components, view name of the view, and text in the label component. If it does not contain the search query, the search is performed in the description of the views or components. The search results from the description appear in brackets. You can edit the [SearchText] [([Description])] template, for example, if the description of the view or the component is empty, you can delete the [([Description])] part of the template.

It is also possible to search the tags with a double number sign (##tag). These tags are used in the search, but are not visible in the search result.
