Metrics contain calculation and aggregation definition for a particular KPI.

A metric is a number that shows a particular aspect of operations for an enterprise. Examples of metrics include:

• Total revenue, since this morning or for the current month

• Revenue by product line, type of business, store, or region

• Average amount (in dollars) per customer order

• Average margin for the product, product line, or store
