Define a regression metric
To perform a regression analysis, you need to create a regression metric, select the outcome metric for the prediction, add possible predictors (metrics), and then run the analysis.

Do one of the following:

From the Guide section, under Define metrics, click the Add new metric link.

On the Documents Tree, right-click Metrics and select New Metric.

Locate the
Regression Metric section
and click the
Create button associated
with it.
The metric editing window appears.
- Assign a unique, descriptive name to the metric.
- Select the format for the metric results (number, currency, and more).
- Select the outcome metric that you need to analyze.
- Set the historic data time interval.
- Define the dimension (drill down) to break the historic data. It should be a date/time dimension or any common dimension that all selected metrics can be broken down by.
- On the Metrics tab, use the Click here to add new metric link to add the source metrics that generate the forecast for the outcome metric. Click the ellipsis button to navigate to the required metric. Add as many metrics as required.
- Click Calculate to run the analysis. T perform the regression analysis, see Regression analysis and click Save .
