Filter groups

A chart can have its data filtered by a filter component or by another chart or grid configured to act as a filter. This is done by linking the two components through a Filter Group. Filters and components are configured to act as filters that "broadcast" their filtering information through a particular Filter Group.

Charts and grids can "listen" to one or multiple Filter Groups. This provides a mechanism to target which Filters control which data for display.

A project can have several Filter Groups and some can be designed to be used only in the current View; such groups are marked "local." Filters from local groups influence only components from a particular View and corresponding view holders. Other filters, not marked "local," influence all components globally.

You can use Filter Groups to make multiple filters target multiple charts and grids, or assign one Filter Group to multiple charts.
