Signers and reviewers

ID

The id for the signers or reviewers (signerid) is created by the system when the signer or reviewer is associated with a signing package. It is stored in the SignDoc database for the created signing package.

Based on signerid

  • A signer or reviewer is associated with an interactive PDF document field, such as signature field, text field, or check boxes.
  • A signer can provide, update, and delete supplemental documents.
  • Invitations for signing and reviewing and notifications are sent out.

The signerid provides information in the audit trail about actions, such as opening a document, signing, finishing a signing package, carried out by a signer or reviewer during the signing session.

Email address

The email of the signer or reviewer is required when a signing package is created. It is stored in the SignDoc database for the created signing package.

Based on their email address, signers and reviewers:

  • Receive an invitation to sign or review a signing package via email, if enabled.
  • Receive individual notifications via email, if enabled.
  • Can be searched by SignDoc users when creating a signing package.

Name

The name of a signer or reviewer is captured when a signing package is created. It is stored in the SignDoc database for the created signing package.

The name is used when:

  • A signer or reviewer is associated with an interactive PDF document field, such as signature field, text field, or check boxes creating an authentication token.
  • The system communicates with the signer or reviewer via email.
  • An external authentication provider requests first and last name to be provided by SignDoc Standard.

The name of a signer or reviewer is displayed in the audit trail when the default name for signing packages is used.

Phone number

The phone number of a signer or reviewer has to be provided when the access to a signing package is restricted by delivery of an authentication parameter via the SMS notification channel. It is stored in the SignDoc database for the created signing package.

User credentials

User credentials are the first and last name of a signer or reviewer. They bind the identification of the person to the signing package. User credentials are also used to provide information in the audit trail about the external authentication result.
