Form Template Editor supports form template adaptation, an operation to create a new form template based on an already existing one.

This function uses the following inputs to create a new form template:

• A new, empty or filled, form image, that is similar to an already existing form template

• The existing form template, that is similar to the new form image

The resulting template is deifned for the new form image.

The adaptation process finds the new position of the original fields of the existing template based on similar field label texts. It reduces the amount of the required manual editing, however the result of this adaptation can still be imperfect, requiring further manual adjustment or finalization.

The adaptation process gives feedback about the failure of finding new position for individual field-zones in the list of messages displayed by the Check Template operation.
