View the performance of a process

View the following performance statistics for a process:

  • A text description of the range, which is either a time-frame or number.

  • A count of jobs that are being evaluated based on the selected range. For example, if you select last month as the date range, the statistics display the number of jobs covered during last month. However, if you select a number of jobs, such as the last 1000, but only 50 jobs are available, the statistics display 50 as the jobs analyzed.

  • The percentage and number of jobs that were completed within the specified duration.

  • The percentage and number of jobs that were completed within budget.

  • The average duration of jobs.

  • The average cost of jobs.

Note Ensure the Monitoring System task in TotalAgility Designer is active (default: active) to correctly record and display cost overruns when viewing process performance. See help for TotalAgility.
  1. On the Administration menu, point to Processes and click View Process.

    The Processes page appears.

  2. Select a category, process and map version.
  3. Click View Process.

    The selected map appears along with the Map Viewer toolbar. To see what each icon for performance statistics mean, on the Map Viewer toolbar, click Legend.

  4. To display the performance statistics, on the toolbar, click Performance.
  5. Select the Show Performance Stats on Process Map check box to display performance statistics for the process. Performance statistics appear based on time-frame or number of jobs. For example, the statistics show the number of jobs processed within the last quarter OR a number such as, 1000 jobs.
  6. To display the performance statistics based on time-frame, ensure that Time Frame is selected, and select the date range using the calendar.
    Note The time-frame defaults to last 30 days.
  7. To display the performance statistics based on a number of jobs, click Number of Jobs, and enter the number, such as 6000.
    Note The performance statistics display data only for jobs against which exceptions are raised.
  8. View the performance statistics depending on the process version:
    • To view the performance statistics for the current version, ensure that This version is selected, and click OK.

    • To view the performance statistics for all versions earlier than the current version, select Up to This Version, and click OK.

    • To view the performance statistics for all versions that are greater than a selected version and less than the current version, select Since version, and click OK.

View the Performance of an activity

View the following performance statistics for activities within a process:

  • The number of occurrences. For example, this activity occurred 25 times.

  • The number of activities completed within the expected duration.

  • The percentage of occurrences. For example, this activity was completed 100% of the time.

  • The percentage of activities completed within the expected duration.

  • The average pending time and duration.

  1. To display the performance statistics, on the toolbar, click Performance.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To display the performance statistics of activities based on percentage, under Activity Stats, click Percentages. For example, check the percentage of activities completed within the expected duration.

    • To display the performance statistics of activities based on numbers, under Activity Stats, click Numbers. For example, check the number of activities completed within the expected duration.

  3. Click OK.

    Depending on the criteria you selected, the performance statistics for each activity appears.
