Place a job on hold

You can place a job on hold and delay all event processing for the amount of time that you specify. When a job is placed on hold, the exceptions, milestones and triggers are affected. When the hold time expires, the job moves to active status and the job activities become pending. You can reactivate jobs on hold at any time.

  1. On the Jobs menu, click Find.
  2. Specify the jobs to put on hold:
    • To place a single job on hold, on the Actions column for the job, click Select and click On Hold.

    • To place multiple jobs on hold, select the check boxes for the jobs to put on hold, and on the Action bar, click Actions and click On Hold.

    • To place all jobs on hold, select the check box in the table header, and on the Action bar, click Actions and click On Hold.

  3. Specify the length of the hold:
    • To put the job on hold until a specific date and time, click Select Date and Time and set the date and time.

    • To put the job on hold for a set period of time, click Select Period and select the time period (Weeks, Days and/or Hours) for the job to remain on hold.

Note The expected finish time and the expected duration of a job will be updated with the amount of time the job was on hold when the job is taken off hold.
  4. In the Reason for Hold box, enter a reason for placing the job on hold.
  5. Click OK.

The job status changes to On Hold.
